What’s Your Holden Worth?

Wondering what your Holden is worth today? Pick your year, model and variant below for an indicative market, trade and retail valuation — plus a month-on-month movement badge so you can see which way values are heading. It’s free, covers the full Holden and HSV range (1976–2020), and there’s no sign-up.

How these values are worked out

Every figure below is collated from trusted industry valuation sources and carefully maintained as a single, searchable list covering the whole Holden & HSV range. They reflect the expressed official market value — not a sentimental, collector or auction price — so they’re a reliable guide to where a car’s value genuinely sits in today’s market.

Figures are indicative market valuations (insurer-basis), not a guaranteed sale price — actual value depends on condition, kilometres, options and location.

Is your Holden going up or down in value?

Holden’s 2020 wind-down split the market in two, and the answer depends entirely on what you own.

Holding or climbing

Collectible and performance Holdens are the strong end. HSV models — Maloo, GTS, Senator — and genuine classics (Torana A9X, early Monaro, Group A Commodores) hold their money and, at the top, sell for well above original list price. Scarcity, provenance and condition drive these, so a documented, low-kilometre example is worth chasing a proper valuation on.

Still depreciating

Mainstream late-model Holdens are the softer end. Our own tracking of the entire range shows a gentle overall drift — the average Holden eased about $53 between our two most recent monthly snapshots, with the steepest falls on later Colorado utes, and models like the Captiva, Cruze and Trax continuing to settle. HSV sat almost flat, easing only a few hundred dollars.

A balanced note: strong collector prices aren’t guaranteed to last — plenty of low-kilometre cars were put away at the wind-down, and that abundant supply can cap long-term gains. Treat any valuation as a starting point, not a promise.
